Thatch Explained
Thatch is the most misdiagnosed layer in a home lawn. Homeowners blame it for brown patches, scalping, spongy footing, and water that will not soak in — and then attack it with a dethatcher that a healthy lawn never needed. Thatch is a normal, useful layer until it is not. Why thatch builds up
